Drought has brought famine to Karamoja. Kampala Archdiocese is rallying the Church in Uganda to respond, and the call is open to everyone, Catholic and non-Catholic alike.
Climate change has driven drought and famine across Kotido and Moroto dioceses. The government has provided some relief, but it isn't enough. From July through September, the Archdiocese is collecting food such as posho, maize flour, rice, beans, and cooking oil to send to families in Karamoja. Every contribution counts, whatever its size.

The Charity Office of Caritas Kampala serves individuals, families and communities across the Archdiocese of Kampala, including Kampala, Wakiso and Butambala. Our programmes respond to practical needs through relief, social support, referrals and longer-term assistance.
Provides practical assistance to people and communities affected by disasters, displacement, food insecurity, and other emergencies.
Provides visits, essential supplies, wellbeing support, and practical care for older people experiencing hardship, isolation, or limited family support.
Supports vulnerable children and families through practical assistance, education support, safeguarding, psychosocial care, and referrals.
Provides practical assistance, referrals, and support to refugees and asylum seekers as they navigate displacement and rebuild greater stability.
Supports people with disabilities through practical assistance, accessibility, inclusion, referrals, advocacy, and collaboration with specialist services.
Supports individuals and families to strengthen livelihoods through skills development, savings initiatives, income-generating activities, and practical guidance.
